Happy New Year
The Staff at the Local 480 Office wish everyone a Safe and Healthy New year.
Some of the issues we are working on right away are the increase to the Sick Leave and LTD as a result of the CBA improvements.
We also understand that the Optical Offices do not have the up-to-date info on ourSafety glasses policy.
We are preparing for a Shop Steward School later this week and preparation is underway for our first Arbitration case of 2006.
WE recently received the decision on the shift schedule arbitration.The arbitrator, Chris Sullivan ruled that the language in Article 13:04 is not restrictive, therefore the company has the right to establish the shifts in question. We are currently in discussions with our lawyeras to determine whether we have grounds for appeal. We will keep you informed of any further developments on the situation. In Solidarity Brian Onyschak
