Greetings Sisters and Brothers, Friends and Neighbours:
On September 5, 2005 the West Kootenay Labour Council cordially invites you all to attend the WKLC Labour Day Picnic.
We look forward to a great turnout in support of Labour on this Labour Day Weekend. All citizens and their families are invited to attend this fun-filled Labour Day event.
DATE: September 5th. 2005
TIME: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
LOCATION: Birchbank Picnic Grounds, Birchbank Road on Highway 22
DIRECTIONS: From Trail: Turn right off Highway 22 just past the Golf Course from Trail between Trail and Castlegar. From Castlegar area: Turn left off Highway 22, just before the Golf Course if you are driving from Castlegar
ACTIVITIES: There will be a wide variety of activities and entertainment for the whole family, including food, good times and various refreshments will be available.
SPECIAL NOTE: Free admission to attend. The Labour Day Picnic is Open to Everyone.
FOOD - DRINK COSTS: Burgers are $3 - Hotdogs $1 - Pop 50 cents. Free door prize tickets will be given out with the food and drink tickets. Free freezies for the children and free watermelon for all attendees.
DOOR PRIZES PROVIDED BY LOCAL BUSINESSES: We have received an excellent response from local area businesses and organizations and they have graciously donated some amazing dooe prizes that you can win. The door prize tickets will be given out free with the purchase of food and drink tickets.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The United Way is still looking for volunteers to help with flipping burgers. If you are interesting in assisting with burger flipping, please contact Sharon at the United Way: 364-0999. Your assistance to help is greatly appreciated.
